About Leukaemia Research
Leukaemia Research was established in 1960 and is the only national research charity solely dedicated to leukaemia and related blood disorders in both adults and children. The charity is committed to improving treatments, finding cures and learning how to prevent leukaemia, Hodgkin's lymphoma and other lymphomas, myeloma and the related blood disorders, diagnosed in 24,500 people in the UK every year.
Much has been achieved over the last 40 years: more lives are being saved thanks to new and improved treatments when leukaemia and blood cancers were an almost death sentence.
But around 1,200 young people aged between 15-34 in the UK are diagnosed every year with a blood cancer, Leukaemia Research is committed to funding into research in this area.
Over the next five years, the charity urgently needs to raise over £100 million to commit to new research across the UK and for that relies entirely on voluntary donations, as it receives no funding from Government.
