The Desert Springs resort in Almeria, south-east Spain was hosted the Sir Ian Botham Charity Golf Series Grand Final on Thursday 30 October to Saturday 1 November 2008.
A host of sporting celebrities & legends attended and helped raise funds for Leukaemia Research including; Ian Woosnam OBE, Matt Dawson, Darren Campbell, Sir Clive Woodward OBE, Jimmy Case, Vinny Samways, Paul Way, D.J. Russell, Peter Baker, Steve Cram MBE, Dennis Taylor and Mick Fitzgerald. The Java Trading Company and talkSPORT radio were joint presenting sponsors for the event. talkSPORT breakfast radio show presenter Alan Brazil broadcast live from the resort on the Friday and Monday. talkSPORT golf correspondent Rupert Bell also completed regular inserts and interviews across the weekend.
